As a lawyer at Stibbe, you are at the centre of the world. This means collaborating with many different people and working on a variety of cases.
During your traineeship, you will get to know different types of practice: you will advise, litigate and negotiate.
You won't get bored for a single day
In the first three years, you will work within two different areas of law. You can state a preference for the practice group in which you want to start. After 27 months, you will switch to another practice group. All your energy and legal creativity can be put to use.
Litigation? Advice? Or negotiation?
Personal guidance is important to us. But we also leave you free to decide what you want. You ultimately choose a specialism. We offer you the opportunities – but you have to do it.
Law Firm School
During your training period, you will be busy with work in your practice, in the office, and often with a new private life in a new environment. The intensive LFS training and the Bar Association's Professional Law School will be on top of that. To make this combination a success, a solid academic foundation is indispensable.
It is good to have taken at least these subjects, if possible with a corresponding European dimension: Property Law, Private International Law, Business Law/Company Law, Law of Civil Procedure, Administrative Law, Law of Administrative Procedure and Bankruptcy Law.

Professional training for lawyers
The Professional Law School and the LFS last three years and run parallel to each other. There is a strong focus on both cognitive subjects and skills.
As a junior associate, you will follow the Civil Law curriculum, with the Administrative Law minor. Two further subjects are also compulsory at the LFS in the first year, namely Securities Law and Tax Law. Subjects on skills and ethics are taken from the Order.
